U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday condemned the deadly suicide attack on a mosque in northwestern Pakistan that reportedly killed more than 40 people and injured over 100. “The secretary-general condemns in the strongest terms the suicide attack at a mosque during Friday prayers in north-west Pakistan,” Ban's office said in a statement. The U.N. chief “is appalled at this deliberate attack at the mosque during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan,” the statement said. "The United Nations will continue its support for Pakistan in its war against terrorism," the statement added.
