UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Friday condemned the terrorist attaack on a Pakistan mosque that claimed at least 49 lives, according to dpa. Ban said he was "appalled" by the deliberate attack on a place of worship during the holy month of Ramadan, and expressed sadness that a teenager had apparently been convinced to carry out the bombing. Pakistani officials put the death toll at 49, and said another 106 people were injured when the suicide bomber blew himself up amidst the crowd gathered at the mosque. Ban's remarks were accompanied by a declaration that the United Nations supported Pakistan in its continuing fight against terrorism.
