No wildfires are reported in central Russian regions, a spokesman for the regional emergencies centre told Itar-Tass on Saturday. According to the spokesman, four wildfires, including a peat bog fire, on an overall area of 0.88 hectares were reported in the Central federal district, all of them have been extinguished. In all, a total of 962 wildfires on an area of 573 hectares were registered in central Russia in 2011. "The figure is more than free-fold less than in 2010, the fire area was by 11.28 times less," the spokesman said. Last year's wildfires hit central Russian regions most.
