An emergency wildfire warning has been issued in Yakutia on Wednesday. High air temperatures with little precipitation are expected in more than 15 districts of Yakutia in the following three days. The worst heat is expected in the Aldan district where air temperatures might go up from 31 to 36 degrees Celsius, Itar-Tass quoted Yakutia's weather service as saying. A threat of new wildfires is looming ahead in the Aldan, Gorny, Megino-Kangalassk, Churapchinsk, Ust-Aldan, Namsky and other districts, including the outskirts of Yakutsk. Wildfires might spread to private dacha territories and economic facilities located near forest areas. Head of administrations of Yakutia's cities and settlements were recommended to take measures to prevent wildfires. Yakutia is one of the most problem areas in the Far East, where the spread of wildfires is difficult to prevent. At present, the fires have spread to a territory of more than 8,000 hectares, a source from the Forestry Department for the Far Eastern Federal District told Itar-Tass. Professional fire-fighters from the airborne forest protection service sent to Yakutia from Siberia and the Russian Far East are already extinguishing fires in Yakutia. A total of 900 firemen, ten fire-fighting planes and more than a hundred ground fire-fighting facilities are operating on wildfire sites. In the near future, groups of firemen from the Komi Republic are expected to join the firefighters.
