Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the visiting Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), this morning called on Indian Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari here in New Delhi. He also met with the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon. During these meetings Sheikh Abdullah discussed a number of issues of common interest especially ways to enhance trade and economic exchanges between the UAE and India. The UAE Foreign minister will also hold a meeting this evening with his Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna and discuss with him bilateral relations. A number of agreements will also be signed between the two sides. India enjoys close and multi-faceted relations with the UAE, which is one of India's largest trade partners, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM". During 2009-10, the bilateral trade touched $43 billion, WAM said. Indians comprise the largest single expatriate community in the UAE, says a statement issued by the Indian Foreign Ministry.
