The area consumed by wildfire in Russia's Siberian regions has decreased more than two-fold over the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the regional emergencies centre told Itar-Tass on Sunday. According to the spokesman, the fire area reduced by 2,686.2 hectares. By Sunday morning, a total of 69 wildfire were reported on an area of 1,739.5 hectares, of which 19 fires on an area of 668 hectares were contained. There is no threat to settlements, the spokesman stressed. Fire fighting operations involve about 1,500 men and 310 units of specialized hardware.
