Rescue teams on Thursday formally ended efforts to rescue survivors after a boat sank in Paranoa lake in Brasilia, with a death toll of nine, dpa reported. Rescue teams retrieved Thursday the body of a 35-year-old man who became the ninth fatal victim of the accident late Sunday. A spokeswoman for the Fire Department said efforts from Thursday would focus on trying to retrieve the boat from the bottom of the lake. The boat Imagination was often used for parties on lake Paranoa, which is one of Brasilia's main attractions. It sank late Sunday, for reasons that are yet to be established, with more than 100 people on board. A total of 94 people survived the accident, but nine - including a 13-year-old boy and a 6-month-old baby - died.
