Deficit in Jordan's trade balance rose during the first quarter of 2011 to JD1.667 billion compared to JD843.7 million during the same period of 2010, according to figures of the Department of Statistics. The figures showed that national exports and re-exported goods also jumped in the first three months of this year to JD1.368 billion compared to JD1.183 in the same period of last year. The value of exports during the same period also reached JD1.159 billion, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported. According to the department's figures, imports rose during the first quarter of 2011 to JD3.045 billion compared to JD2.518 billion in the same period of 2010.
