Kuwait and Italy have agreed on cementing the bilateral friendly ties and coordinating stances between the two states on regional and international political arenas. The agreement was reached during a meeting between the visiting Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and his Italian counterpart, Franco Frattini. In remarks to Kuwait News Agency "KUNA," Sheikh Dr. Mohammad said he discussed with Frattini the distinguished bilateral ties, adding that the talks dealt with regional issues. He noted that he agreed with the Italian counterpart on coordinating the two states' stands ahead of the planned meeting of the international contact group on Libya, due in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, early next month. The cordial discussions also dealt with Middle Eastern issues, centering on the question of the Rome convention for restructuring the United Nations Security Council, he said, noting that the talks revealed harmony of the stances of Kuwait and Italy at this level.
