The Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of The Gulf (GCC), Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, has commended the stance of the European Union in support of the GCC initiative to end the crisis in the Republic of Yemen, also praising in this regard the statement of High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Common Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, who considered the initiative as the best chance for Yemen to confront its economic, social and security challenges. In a statement issued today, Dr. Al-Zayani said that Yemen's cooperation and positive response to the GCC initiative will contribute to maintain its civil peace, security, stability, unity and prosperity.
