Awwal 25, 1432 / April 29, 2011, SPA -- Nine people were killed and 53 injured Friday when a truck they were riding in plunged into a ravine in the southern Philippines, police said. The victims were on their way to work at a palm plantation in Misamis Oriental province, 795 kilometres south of Manila, when the accident occurred, as dpa reported. Senior Superintendent Graciano Mijares, the provincial police director, said the truck was negotiating a curve when it fell into the ravine.
