Awwal 13, 1432, April 17, 2011, SPA -- A Saudi man was executed here on Sunday after being convicted of raping and trying to kill a child, the interior ministry said. Shabib bin Abdullah Al-Dussari, who had previous convictions of shooting and consuming alcohol and narcotics, was sentenced to death on the basis of the Shariah. The Ministry of Interior asserted in its statement that the government would maintain security, serve justice and administer divine punishment against all those who threaten the security of others and shed their blood, the statement said.
