Akhir 19, 1432 H/March 24, 2011, SPA -- A Saudi man convicted of murder was executed today, the Ministry of Interior said. “Saeed bin Safar bin Saeed Al Hmaid, a Saudi national, killed his compatriot Mohammad bin Saeed bin Mohammad Abu Mahroos by stabbing due to a dispute between them,” the statement said. The murderer was arrested and referred to the General Court, which upheld the charge against him and ruled for his execution on the basis of the Shariah. The execution took place in the province of Khamees Msheet in the region of Asir. The Ministry of Interior asserted in its statement that the government would maintain security, serve justice and administer divine punishment against all those who threaten the security of others and shed their blood, the statement said.
