RIYADH: A Saudi man was executed here Sunday after being convicted of raping and trying to kill a boy, the Interior Ministry said in a statement to SPA. Shabib Bin Abdullah Al-Dowsari, who had previous convictions for consuming alcohol and narcotics, was sentenced to death on the basis of the Shariah. According to the statement, Al-Dowsari kidnapped the boy, took him to a desert area, raped him and tried to kill him by hitting him with his car; the boy was seriously injured. The government will maintain security, serve justice and administer divine punishment against all those who threaten others' security.
