Akhir 29, 1432 / April 03, 2011, SPA -- A strong earthquake struck off the southern coast of Indonesia's Java island early Monday, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning, according to dpa. The quake, measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale, jolted the southern coast of Central Java at about 3:06 am (2006 GMT Sunday). Its epicentre was located in the Indian Ocean, 293 kilometres south-west of Cilacap, said Indonesia's Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency. The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, the agency said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from the quake, the latest of a series earthquake to hit Indonesia in recent months.
