Awwal 19, 1432 H/Feb 22, 2011, SPA -- In view of the recent developments in Libya, Saudi Arabia started to evacuate its citizens from the Arab country, it was reported today. Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Khalid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said a royal order by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud instructed the concerned authorities to dispatch a special passenger plane to evacuate Saudi and GCC citizens and their families stranded in Libya to the Kingdom. He said the ministry of Foreign Affairs has established an operation room at the Saudi embassy in Tripoli to coordinate the move, with the airplane expected to reach King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Wednesday morning.
