Awwal 06, Feb 09, 2011, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has deplored the news of the incident of an attack yesterday on churches in the province of Central Java, Indonesia, by extremist groups. "The violence and fanaticism of the followers of other religions and the destruction of places of worship are against the teachings of Islam and its pillars of fundamental principles as well as the OIC's position on tolerance among followers of religions, and that these mishaps are incompatible with the Islamic traditions and culture.
