Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu strongly condemned today the bomb blast Monday in Kabul which killed over 40 people and wounded score of others. In a press statement issued here today, Prof Ihsanoglu lamented the continuing attack on innocent persons, and said such criminal acts run counter to the teachings of the peaceful religion of Islam. He called on the authorities to identify the perpetrators with a view to bringing them to justice. Prof Ihsanoglu conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Afghanistan. While reaffirming the solidarity of the OIC with Afghanistan on its struggle against all forms of extremism and terrorism, the Secretary General urged all people of Afghanistan to support the government to bring an end to the cycle of violence in the country.
