Awwal 01, 1432, Feb 04, 2011, SPA -- eurozone states agreed to coordinate their economic policies so as to boost their competitiveness, dpa quoted the European Union's president as saying on Friday. Eurozone member states are desperate to shore up the credibility of their shared currency after the collapse last year of Greece and Ireland. They have already agreed on a series of reforms to their financial rules, and are now trying to find economic reforms to go with them. "The reinforcement of eurozone economic policy coordination for greater competitiveness is being added to the financial package," EU President Herman Van Rompuy wrote on Twitter from the summit room. Ahead of the summit, France and Germany said that they were going to call for a "competitiveness pact" on trimming state spending and boosting business. But they presented no clear details on Friday. -- SPA
