The General Commission for Civil Aviation (GCCA) said in a statement that heavy rains on the city of Jeddah today did not affect the air traffic at Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA). Official Spokesman of the GCCA Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Khaybari said the airport's advanced equipment, including air control devices and state-of-the-art radars, are always ready to deal with such situations. The landing and departure were normal on all runways since the first moment of raining and until the moment of issuing this statement, he added. He said the vision, quantity of rain falling on the runways and wind speed were all at the levels allowing a normal traffic and accordingly not suspending or stopping it.
