French Foreign Minister Michele Alliot-Marie held talks Saturday with Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak on ways to revive the Middle East peace process, as dpa reported. Mubarak and Alliot-Marie met in Cairo to discuss the stalled peace process between the Israelis and Palestinians, as well as developments in Iraq, the political crisis in Lebanon and the future of Southern Sudan. Alliot-Marie arrived in Egypt late Friday as part of her first visit to the Middle East since taking over from her predecessor, Bernard Kouchner. She is also expected to visit Jordan.
