Saudi Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Hassan Bin Talat Nazer has said that Saudi students in Australian Queensland State are fine, noting that the Embassy has prepared a plan to evacuate them along with their families from areas threatened by recent devastating floods that swept the state and claimed the lives of 10 people and more than 51 missing persons. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Ambassador said that the Embassy has set up an emergency operations room of officials of the Embassy and Cultural Attaché Office, who have gone to the Queensland to follow up developments on the ground and to communicate with Saudi clubs and students in the affected areas. He noted that the Embassy has been evacuating a number of families of Saudi students from the areas threatened by floods in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, to hotels in safe areas at the expense of the Embassy.
