JEDDAH: Over 120 Saudi families in Australia affected by the unprecedented floods which hit Queensland State have been housed in hotels in Brisbane, one of the largest cities in Queensland, said Hassan Bin Talat Nazer, the Saudi Ambassador to Australia. He told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that all the Saudi students sent on scholarships as well all the Saudi citizens in Australia were in good health and safe from the floods which he described as the worst in 50 years. He urged all Saudi students to take care and keep away from flooded areas. He said the embassy formed an emergency team to work around-the-clock to help Saudis. It has sent a similar team to Brisbane to follow up on the needs of Saudi students and to make sure that all those affected have been housed in hotels at the expense of the embassy. He called on all Saudi students to stay in touch with the officials at the embassy. There are 1,200 Saudi students studying at various colleges and universities in Australia.
