A Saudi Education Official has highlighted the importance of observing Arab Illiteracy Eradication Day The Director of Department of Education in Makhwah Governorate, Turki Bin Ahmad Al-Zubaidi, said all the Department's affiliated schools in the Governorate are participating in the observance of the Arab Illiteracy Eradication Day, which is celebrated and opened yesterday with varied activities to support the campaign of spreading literacy in the Arab World. In a statement on the occasion, he said all schools need serious initiatives on this Arab Day for the eradication of illiteracy through the intensification of efforts. He also highlighted various literacy programs and targets. He said the Day's activities include the organization of events related to illiteracy and convening of lectures and distribution of publications and brochures that will help achieve fully the objectives of the Arab Illiteracy Eradication Day in the centers established in a number of villages and hamlets of the governorate.
