Yarmouk University has secured a €1 million grant from the TEMPUS Joint European project to finance a 3-year project to develop a master's program in wireless communication engineering at the university. Head of Department of Telecommunications Engineering at Yarmouk University, Khaled Gharaibeh said that the project along with 64 other projects were picked out of 450 international projects and came in the first place in terms of specific scientific criteria. He explained that the project aims to upgrade the department curricula and open new programs in wireless engineering and telecommunications networks management It also aims to update teaching methods to keep pace with global programs and create a quality assurance unit for graduates, Gharaibeh was quoted as saying by the Jordanian News Agency "PETRA" The program will also develop the technical and research capacity of the faculty personnel and Masters' students by opening channels with European universities through exchanging visits and expertise, implementing joint research projects and building new scientific laboratories.
