Hijjah 23, 1431, Nov 29, 2010, SPA -- In the presence of Prince Talal Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development (AGFUND) and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdulrazzaq, the Committee of AGFUND Prize will hold here on Tuesday its annual meeting to announce the winners of AGFUND International Prize for Pioneering Developmental Projects in its four branches, worth $ 500,000. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Director of AGFUND's Information Department Abdullatif Al-Dhuwaihi pointed out that this year's prize has been assigned for the development of remote and rural communities through information and communication technology. It is noteworthy that 34 projects have won the prizes during the last 10 years in the fields of combating poverty; health; education; training; early childhood development, water, and agriculture.
