Hijjah 14, 1431H, Nov 20, 2010, SPA -- Indian President Pratibha Patil begins tomorrow a state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The visit draws great importance as it is part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in economic, trade, labor, political and cultural avenues, said a report of the UAE news agency "WAM." UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has always expressed his keenness to promote bilateral cooperation with India through mutual understanding and convergence in the views of both countries over issues of common concern. The bilateral relations between the UAE and India enjoy power and strength as these ties are based on historical roots and mutual interests and cooperation. The visit by President Pratibha Patil comes within the framework of mutual official visits by senior officials in both countries aimed to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of both countries. This is going to be the first UAE visit by an Indian President in seven years, as the last Indian President who arrived here was A P J Abdul-Kalam in 2003.
