Qa'da 09, 1431, Oct 17, 2010, SPA -- The Jordan Festival for Arab Media (JFAM) 2010 started Saturday bringing together private and public TV channels, film production companies as well as TV advertisement agencies. Audiovisual Commission Director General Amjad Qadi told Jordan's "Petra" news agency that the festival was of a paramount importance and would cover wide-ranging issues of concern to the media industry in the Arab world. He added that the gathering includes a number of media seminars, lectures and fairs. The festival being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Samir Rifai aims to boost the media industry in Arab countries and investment opportunities in the Kingdom. A number of Arab actors, writers and intellectuals are taking part in the event, which is supported by the Jordanian-Saudi Company for Satellite Broadcasting (JASCO).
