Qaeda 1431 H. / 13 October 2010, SPA -- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a letter to Egyptian President Mohammad Hosni Mubarak. The letter was handed by Prince Saud Alfaisal, the Foreign Minister, during an audience with the president here today. Prince Saud stressed that the letter concerns the current Arab situation. In remarks to reporters, he said the meeting underlined the same view of both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt and that they will work in the same direction concerning the current problems and issues at the arena on which consultations are conducted and which include the issues of Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Sudan and all that concerns the Arab world. Prince Saud said that during the meeting, he listened to the views of the president on these issues and that he will convey them to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques within the framework of constant consultations between the two leaders. Responding to a question on the Iranian president's visit to Lebanon, Prince Saud said that the visit created a great momentum in Lebanon, adding, "But what is important is the outcome." Prince Saud hoped the outcome of the visit will be the same as the momentum concerning peace in Lebanon. On the situation in Sudan and what the kingdom and Sudan can do in view of the forthcoming referendum in the south of Sudan, Prince Saud said that this issue is under discussion between the Saudi and Egyptian governments as well as other Arab governments with Sudan. Responding to a question, Prince Saud hoped that Saudi-Syrian rapprochement will be for the benefit of the situation in both Lebanon and Iraq. Responding to another question, Prince Saud said that what Saudi Arabia and Egypt can do to help Iraq to come out of its current crisis is advice and consultation adding that the decision remains in the hands of Iraqis who only can solve the problems of Iraq. Prince Saud added, "The kingdom and Egypt stand at the same distance from all Iraqis and they hope that there will be a government truly representing all Iraqis and in which all sects enjoy the same rights and duties."
