The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has signed 15 reciprocal agreements with a number of countries to ease trade exchanges and protect the consumer, said Nabil Bin Amin Mulla, Governor of SASO. In a statement on Wednesday, Mulla said SASO has signed 10 agreements with multinational companies to ensure all their electrical products conform to Saudi safety specifications. He said the organization has issued more than 4,000 Saudi specifications and a technical bylaw for electrical products. It has also conformed to 3,000 specifications issued by the International Electrotechnic Commission. Abdul Rahman Al-Abdul Kareem, Director of Electrical Products at SASO, said the Saudi National Electrotechnic Committee (SNEC) plays a major role in the development and adoption of local and regional specifications.
