The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has said that no examples of the infant powdered milk formula Similac over which warnings were issued Tuesday are present in the Kingdom. SASO Governor Nabeel Mulla said that the recall, ordered after beetles were found in some of the product's containers, was confined to the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and some Caribbean nations following guidance from the US FDA and manufacturers Abbott. “The suspected serial numbers reveal that the Kingdom is not one of the countries subject to a recall,” Mulla said. “The manufacturer has produced certificates of origin showing that Similac products in the Kingdom were manufactured at the company's factories in Ireland.”
