The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is taking part in a high-level forum on ways to promote Arab-African cooperation in the fields of investment and trade. The meeting, which opened today in the Libyan capital, is held under the theme 'Towards an Arab-African partnership'. It takes place shortly before the Arab-African summit scheduled in Libya in October, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM." Salem Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Naqbi, UAE's acting Charge D'affaires in Libya, is taking part in the forum which is organised by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the African Union Commission (AU) and the Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). The two-day forum will address several issues including the Afro-Arab cooperation on food security, water resources, energy, infrastructure, oil, gas and human resources and will review cooperation experiences among some Arab and African countries in the fields of investment and trade.
