At least 10 people were killed and 50 others injured when a goods train collided head-on with a stationary passenger train at Badarwas railway station in Shivpuri district of north Indian state, Madhya Pradesh in the wee hours on Monday amid heavy rains. "Ten deaths have been reported," Piyush Mathur, West Central Railway CPRO said, adding some of the injured are in a serious condition. It seems the goods train driver overshot the signal and hit the Indore-Gwalior Inter-City Express standing at the station, he was quoted as saying by The Press Trust of India (PTI). Two bogies of the passenger train were damaged when the goods train hit it from the front. The injured have been taken to hospitals in Guna and Shivpuri, he said. --SPa
