Hurricane Julia has become a dangerous Category 4 storm far out over the Atlantic with maximum sustained winds near 135 mph (215 kph) _ and the National Hurricane Center in Miami says it could get even stronger. Julia was located Wednesday about 525 miles (845 kilometers) west of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving northwest near 10 mph (17 kph). Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Karl is nearing the Yucatan Peninsula, bearing down on the resort beaches of the Mayan Riviera. Also far from land over the Atlantic, Hurricane Igor's top winds have weakened slightly to near 145 mph (230 kph), the Associated Press reported.
