Humeid noted that the Holy Quran is the major soruce of Islam. He condemned the attempt of a priest to burn the Holy Quran and said this attempt is a provocative act which hurts the feelings of the Muslims throughout the world. Dr al-Humeid said the conference of dialogue among followers of religions and civilizations organized in Makkah aimed at enhancing the pillars of coexistence and understanding among people and discarding all forms of terrorism and fanaticism. He pointed out that burning the Holy Quran is a form of terrorism and such an act paves the way for terror acts, and moreover it constitutes an insult to Islam and Muslims.
