India condemned today plans of an American priest to burn copies of the Holy Quran on Saturday and urged the US to take a strong measure against this heinous act. Palaniappan Chidambaram, the Indian interior minister, said the plan of burning copies of the Holy Quran will create problems among followers of various religions and undermine coexistence among them. It is hoped that the American authorities will take strict measures to prevent occurrence of such act, he said.
