Quds. The council urged the international community to to work for ending the settlement policy and preserving the Islamic and Christian sanctuaries. The council confirmed support to the establsihemnt of the independent Palestinian state in line with the principles of the international legitimacy and the UN's resolutions and land-for-peace principle as well as the Arab peace initiative. The council called for the respect of all legal Palestinians institutions including the elected legislative council. It urged the Palestinian factions to unify their ranks and work for establishing a national unity government that enables the Palestinians restore their usurped rights and establish their state with al-Quads as its capital. The council condemned Israeli raids on Gaza strip. The council welcomed the outcome of the meeting of the ministerial council for the Arab peace initiative held on July 29, 2010 , pertaining to resumption of direct negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, and hoped that the negotiations would yield positive results and pave the way for final settlement for the dispute. --more
