based Al-Nadwah praised the decision of the Arab League's follow up committee about resumption of negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis and said resumption of negotiations might positively contribute to the acceleration of the peace process. The daily noted that fixing the period of negotiations with four months means that the Palestinians will not continue to negotiate if they feel that they are in seamless ring, adding that during this period of four months the Palestinians will get acquainted whether the Israeli side is ready to reap the benefits of peace or whether it is going ahead on its policy of maneuvers and usurpation of rights . "Anyway, negotiations will be indirect negotiations through a third party and they will turn into direct negotiations if the Israelis seriously and genuinely negotiate." The daily believes that the negotiations whether they are direct or indirect will be useless without an effective American role at all stages of the negotiations because America is the major sponsor of the peace process. "Moreover, the U.S. is the only party which is capable of putting pressure on Israel. In addition, Washington is fully aware of the fact that negotiations under the Israeli expansionist policy will never culminate into success." "The recent U.S. efforts, notably sending an envoy to the region, embodies America's keenness on giving an impetus to the peace process in a manner that enables the Palestinians to restore their usurped rights including their right to establish their own state with al-Quds as its capital," the newspaper noted. --MORE
