The GCC ministerial council ended here last night its 116th session under the chairmanship of Kuwaiti deputy premier and foreign minister Dr Mohammed Sabah al-Sabah. The ministerial council highlighted the positive outcome of the participation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Aziz at the summit of g-20, held in last June in Toronto and said the comprehensive speech delivered by King Abdullah stands as a witness for his farsightedness and wisdom. The council also appraised the speech of King Hamad ibn Eisa al-Khalifa of Bahrain in which he reiterated determination to go ahead on the path of development and reform as well as his call to confront the menace of terrorism with all of its forms in addition to adherence to the values of Islam which advocates tolerance, love, fraternity, mercy, peace and cooperation as well as moderation. The council expressed good wishes to Sheikh Khalifa ibn Zayed al-Nahyan, the President to the UAE, who has recently undergone a medical checkup. --more
