The Amman-based Islamic Conference for Beit Al-Makdis has reiterated that the issue of Al-Quds is the core of the dispute with Israel and Al-Aqsa Mosque is the pillar for confrontation with the Occupation Force. The conference, in a press statement here today, said the crime of setting fire on al-Aqsa Mosque was the first step towards demolishing the entire Mosque. "This blessed mosque stands as a symbol for the adherence of the Muslim nation with its creed and its determination on defending and protecting the mosque irrespective of the Zionist military arrogance," said the statement. The statement drew attention to the threats of Israel which is trying to change the characteristics of al-Quds as well as highlighting the Zionist covetousness. The statement urged the leaders of the Muslim nation to work for the revival of the Islamic solidarity for defending al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque at the regional and international arenas. The statement underscored the importance of adherence to al-Quds as the capital of the Palestinian state and a civilization spreading center.
