Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulmohsen Al Turki, the Secretary General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) received here today former Pakistani President Muhammad Rafiq Tarar. During the reception, the former Pakistani President lauded the Saudi attention and solidarity for the needs of Muslims and its defense of the principles of the great religion of Islam, alluding to the Kingdom's role in providing support and assistance to the Islamic peoples' in need. He highlighted the Kingdom's humanitarian role in the rescue of the people of Pakistan to face the aftermath of torrential rains and floods that affected millions of people. He also noted MWL's relief efforts and provision of assistance to the people of Pakistan through the International Islamic Relief of Saudi Arabia (IIROSA), and commended its role in spreading correct Islamic culture among the Muslims. The former Pakistani president reiterated the importance of the decisions and recommendations issued by the participating scholars in the Conference on "Muslim World League - Reality and exploring the future," held under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques during the period from 19 to 21/8/1431 AH on the occasion of the5th MWL anniversary. Meanwhile, Dr Al Turki also received Chief of Sudan Ulema Commission Dr. Mohammed Othman Salih and discussed a number of issues in the forefront including the achievement of joint coordination and cooperation among all Ulema of Muslim nation as well as the mobilization of the nation's potentials in the face of cultural and intellectual challenges that are generated by globalization and westernization in the Islamic communities.
