Eng. Abdullah Ibn Abdulrahman Al Husayen, the Minister of Water and Electricity, inspected here today a number of water projects in the province. The Minister pointed out that he has viewed the level of storage of Beesh, MArbah and Atoud dams after heavy rains in the province recently and reiterated that Beesh Dam currently contains approximately 150 million cubic meters, an equivalent to the production of desalination plant for five years. Beesh dam is not merely a supportive of desalinated water, but could be an alternative to it, as the valley is perennial with quantity of about 200 thousand cubic meters. With this quantity, the dam can feeds Jazan province and also Marbah purification plant in Al Jathebeyah. The Minister also announced to the residents of Tathleeth and Beisha that they will be provided with water from Al wajeed basin. In-depth study confirmed the availability of large amount of water and therefore drilling of some wells started, which confirmed the availability of water and said this field will provide Tathleeth and Beisha with fresh water up to the year 1460H at the average of 80 thousand cubic meters per day, he added.
