Prince Mohammed Ibn Nawaf Ibn Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom inaugurated here on Friday the 4th International Saudi Conference at University of Manchester in British City of Manchester. Addressing the Conference, the Prince said that in Saudi Arabia today, there is a tremendous movement led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, to transform Saudi society and economy into knowledge-based society and economy, noting that in order to achieve this objective, Saudi Arabia should acquire, produce and disseminate knowledge. He pointed out that the King has launched several initiatives in this direction, such as education reform, increase of the number of Saudi universities, improvement of the quality of higher education and the program of scholarships abroad which includes under its umbrella 16000 scholarships students in the United Kingdom and Ireland only . It is noteworthy that the conference was organized by the Saudi Students Club in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, patronized by University of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, supervised by Saudi cultural attaché office in Britain, and hosted by University of Manchester. --More
