The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Salam Palace here today. At the outset of the session, the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the talks and contacts the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz held during the past few days, including the meeting the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques held with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani as well as the telephone call the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received from Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh in addition to the message the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received from Burkina Faso President Blaise Compaore. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said that the Cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments. Dr. Khoja also said that the Cabinet discussed a number of domestic issues. The Cabinet hailed the effort exerted by the General Authority of Civil Aviation under the chairmanship of the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to develop several projects of the Authority, particularly the project of developing and expanding King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The Cabinet valued the opening of the Exhibition of Saudi Archaeological Masterpieces at Louvre Museum, France. The Cabinet described the opening of this exhibition as reflecting the cultural dimension of cooperation between the two countries and highlighting the image of human civilization which existed for a long historical period in the Arabian Peninsula as well as the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the subsequent comprehensive development of all aspects of life. The Cabinet commended the success achieved by the Saudi Pavilion at the 17th Tokyo International Book Fair in which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated as a Guest of Honor. --More
