The Cabinet praised on Monday progress in the General Authority of Civil Aviation's development projects, notably the expansion of King Abdul Aziz International Airport, and also lauded the “Roads of Arabia – Archeology and History of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” exhibition which opened last week at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The exhibition, the Cabinet said, “embodies the cultural dimension of the two countries' cooperation and highlights the portrayal of humanity across the extensive history of the Arabian Peninsula”. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said that the weekly meeting also noted the success of the Saudi pavilion at the Tokyo International Book Fair at which the Kingdom was guest of honor. Chaired by Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, the Cabinet was briefed on the last week's contacts made by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, including his meeting with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, his telephone exchange with Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh, and the letter he received from President of Burkina Faso Blaise Compaore. Minister Khoja said that a number of local issues were also discussed before the Cabinet approved a memorandum of cooperation signed in Riyadh in March last year between the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution and General Prosecutor's Office in the Republic of Korea. It also approved a cooperation memorandum between King Abdul Aziz Darat and the Isa Cultural Center in Bahrain. The Cabinet further approved a general cooperation agreement with the Brazilian government which was signed in Riyadh on May 16, 2009, and authorized the minister of trade and industry in his capacity as Chairman of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization to hold cooperation talks on a technical program with UAE's Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology.
