The 15th periodical meeting for the Saudi-South Korean joint commission was held here today under the co-chairmanship of Minister of Economy and Planning Khalid Muhammad Al-Qusaybi and South Korean Trade Minister Kim Jong-Hoon. Speaking on the occasion, Al-Qusaybi said the meeting will positively contribute to further cementing relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and South Korea. He noted that the Kingdom is the biggest oil exporter to South Korea and that Seoul is positioned 4th in the list of the leading trade partners of the Kingdom. Al-Qusaybi pointed out that the Kingdom's 9th development plan defines aspects of cooperation between the two countries not only in the traditional domains like energy but also in other domains like information technology, transport, building and construction, water desalination, power generation and renewable nuclear energy. On his part, the South Korean minister highlighted the existing Saudi-Korean relations and reiterated the keenness of South Korea on further enhancing these relations in all domains in a manner that serves interests of the two friendly nations.
