"No changing of the Guard today. Come back tomorrow," a policeman on horseback told tourists, firmly but politely, outside Buckingham Palace in London today, dpa reported. He was part of a considerable contingent of police and firemen who had been called to clear the area around the palace and adjacent parks of tourists, onlookers and passers-by after a car caught fire on the Mall, the central avenue leading to the royal palace. "As quickly as possible, ladies and gents, for your own safety. There's a big fire which could go off any second," shouted a policewoman. As it turned out, there was no danger of a terrorist attack. Police said a car had caught fire through overheating from an electrical fault, and ignited two others parked next to it. -- SPA
