Part of Munich Airport was cordoned off today and flights were disrupted after German baggage scanners spotted what appeared to be a suicide-bomber's belt, dpa reported. A federal border police bomb-disposal team was called and established that the item was a woman's belt with a novelty buckle in the shape of half a hand-grenade. Staff had spotted it when a Russian woman traveller put it inside an X-ray scanner for carry-ons. Police evacuated the security inspection area of the airport's Terminal 2 during the call-out and planes had to wait longer for their passengers.
