Czech President Vaclav Klaus accepted the resignation of a caretaker government led by Prime Minister Jan Fischer to give way to a new administration expected to be formed following the May 28-29 election, according to Reuters. Klaus asked Fischer to stay on in office until a new government is in place. Three centre-right parties are in talks to build a ruling coalition and are expected to wrap up negotiations in mid July. Fischer took over the interim cabinet since May 2009 after a previous right-of-centre government was toppled in a no-confidence vote.
