Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the Tourism and Antiquities Authority and Chairman of the Higher Steering Committee for the First Islamic Conference on Constructional Legacy conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; his Crown Prince; and the Second Deputy Premier to participants of the conference, wishing them every success. In a key address, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz underscored the cultural, economic, social and touristy importance of constructional heritage in its capacity as a key sector of development, describing the event as among the biggest conferences ever held in the Kingdom. He paid tribute to the big number of participants in this event, lauding the partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Information on rendering the media coverage of the conference. For his part, Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja, the Minister of Culture and Information, confirmed the importance of the event as it develops the link between human being and his heritage, history, land, identity and language. He said that language, heritage, folklore and home building are quantitative means on which human beings have built their life over thousands of years, confirming the importance of preserving the identity, history and belongingness of this part of the world. A number of ministers and representatives also addressed the opening session.
